Conflict in the workplace is a common occurrence. For migrant workers there are added factors such as language barriers, cultural differences and power struggles impacting relationships among migrant workers and with their supervisors/employers. The pandemic has also heightened the situation. There are fewer social events and activities for relaxation due to COVID-19, resulting in less outlets for workers to destress causing emotions to boil over. How conflicts are resolved has a huge impact on the worker and the culture of the workplace. It’s important for support workers to have greater understanding of conflict resolution techniques to support workers when conflict arises in their workplace.
