In 2019, a new pathway to permanent residence was introduced for some temporary foreign workers in the agri food sector. The three year Agri Food Immigration Pilot, set to open in May 2020, will be available to individuals who have obtained at least a year of full time, non seasonal agri food work experience under the TFWP. In addition to meeting work experience requirements, participants must also meet language and educational requirements and have an indeterminate, full time, non seasonal job offer in an eligible occupation.
