For migrant workers being away from their family and their community can cause mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. This could be exacerbated due the COVID-19 mandatory self-isolation upon arrival to Canada, fear of being exposed to the virus at work as well as getting sick in a foreign country.
It is important to find ways to better support them by providing strategies to take care of their mental health, especially during the pandemic.
