SUMMARY:Workshop:  Introduction to WorkSafeBC:  Rules and Processes for Settlement Agencies and Support Workers
DESCRIPTION:Migrant workers can be vulnerable to unsafe work and workplace hazards\, including their health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. They often lack the knowledge\, language skills and ability to exercise their right to a safe and healthy workplace. WorkSafeBC is partnering with AMSSA to develop workshops and information for settlement agencies and their support workers to help migrant workers understand and exercise their rights and receive benefits they are entitled to as workers in BC as they relate to workplace health and safety. Her educational background is in chemistry\, business and environmental safety. At WorkSafeBC\, she has worked in various industries including small business\, construction\, retail\, hospitality\, foodservices\, manufacturing\, supermarkets\, violence prevention\, wineries\, and woodworking.
