DESCRIPTION:The Interior Region 2020 Regional Meeting “Supporting Migrant Workers: Building Resilience for the Future” will build upon the recommendations we heard from the 2019 Regional Meetings in relation to serving migrant workers\, the improvements and the gaps that still need to be addressed. SUMMARY:Webinar: Alcohol and Drug Use Supporting Migrant Workers Who are Facing Addiction
DESCRIPTION:Due to the stigma and negative connotations linked to alcohol and drug addiction\, it is difficult for many users to accept they have a problem. Consuming excessive amounts of alcohol and drugs can have adverse health impacts\, the effects may last long and can cause permanent damage. \nIsolation\, family separation and anxiety associated to living in a foreign country\, among other factors\, can put migrant workers at risk of facing alcohol and drug addiction.
